The U.S. Department of Labor's Job Corps and AAMCO Transmissions have teamed up to provide job training for disadvantaged young adults - in a brand new facility built specifically to provide specialized transmission training. This program addresses the scarcity of automotive technicians in today's hi-tech society and gives young adults the tools needed to build a successful long-term career with the potential to make over $60,000 a year. More than 28.8 million transmissions were serviced in 1998, driving the call for skilled technicians in this area.

Taking the "Bait" Out of Rebates

Rebate offers can be irresistible to consumers, slashing the price of consumer goods at the time of purchase or promising partial or full reimbursements after the purchase.

Some manufacturers and retailers entice shoppers with instant cash rebates that can be redeemed immediately at the checkout counter.

But most rebates are of the mail-in variety. They require consumers to pay the full cost of an item at the time purchase, then to send documentation to the manufacturer or retailer to receive a rebate by mail.

What is Area Development
An aggressive, successful franchisor may also offer a qualified potential franchisee an opportunity to participate in a program of systematic planned expansion in a particular market. The selected franchisee agrees to a performance contract which involves a specific number of franchises to be purchased and opened within a specific period of time by the franchisee or sold to other potential franchisees.

Depending on the franchisor, there are a number of other options that are often available to the area developer franchisee. Sometimes the area developer is best described as a regional or a master franchisee. This franchisee may be a well financed investor or a group of investors. The fee to secure these special rights are calculated on reduced multiple franchise fee amounts.
